Definitions:

  • Cash flow: is the net amount of cash and cash equivalents being transferred into and out of a business.
  • Treasury Inflation-Protected Security (TIPS) is a Treasury bond that is indexed to an inflationary gauge to protect investors from the decline in the purchasing power of their money.
  • Consumer Price Index (CPI):  is a measure that examines the weighted average of prices of a basket of consumer goods and services, such as transportation, food, and medical care.
